The Clerk of Works (Architecture) is responsible for supervising, inspecting, and ensuring that construction works related to architectural finishes and detailing are carried out to the highest quality standards, in compliance with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements. The role acts as the eyes and ears of the architect/consultant on site, ensuring proper workmanship, materials usage, and adherence to design intent.

  1. Site Supervision & Inspection

  2. Monitor and supervise architectural works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

  3. Conduct regular site inspections for finishes, materials, and detailing.

  4. Ensure works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and project timelines.

  5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  6. Verify quality of materials delivered to site and ensure proper usage.

  7. Ensure all architectural works meet design intent, codes of practice, and statutory requirements.

  8. Highlight non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are taken.

  9. Coordination & Communication

  10. Liaise with the project team, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors on all architectural matters.

  11. Provide technical input and guidance to contractors for finishing works.

  12. Assist in resolving site issues, discrepancies, and conflicts.

  13. Documentation & Reporting

  14. Maintain detailed site records, daily reports, and photographic evidence of progress and issues.

  15. Prepare and submit inspection reports to the Project Manager/Architect.

  16. Attend site meetings and provide updates on architectural works progress.

  17. Other Duties

  18. Support project handover and defect rectification works.

  19. Ensure site housekeeping and safety compliance related to architectural works.
