Editor – Remote (US Shift | 8-Month Contract)

Location: Remote (Malaysia)

Tenure: 8 months ONLY

Work Hours: US East Coast shift (Night shift Malaysia time)

Work Mode: Remote

Salary : Rm 5500 – RM 6250

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and proofread content as directed by team leads and global managers.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with branding and style guidelines (including charts, tables, and graphics).
  • Format and publish reports using content management systems, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Review and amend materials within the Quark Publishing Platform (training provided if required).
  • Manage editorial deadlines and maintain content quality standards.
  • Provide editorial coverage during colleagues' public holidays or leave periods across other regions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field (NCTJ equivalent accepted).
  • Minimum 3 years of professional sub-editing or editorial experience.
  • Exceptional command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong attention to detail and editorial accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Familiar with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), ideally Quark Publishing Platform.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and coordinate with a global editorial team.

Additional Details

  • Shift: US East Coast hours (Night shift in Malaysia).
  • Location: Remote (onboarding and equipment collection in Penang).
  • Public Holidays: May occasionally cover US or Philippines holidays (voluntary, paid at normal rate).
  • Contract Duration: 8 months (non-renewable).
