Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Tuah Bersatu Jaya Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Sabah. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects
• Negotiating and administering contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Monitoring project costs and cash flow, and providing regular updates to the management team
• Liaising with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure the successful completion of projects
• Identifying and mitigating financial risks, and proposing cost-saving measures
• Providing expert advice and guidance to the construction team on contractual and commercial matters
• Mentoring and developing junior quantity surveyors within the team

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry
• Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Excellent understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project planning
• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools, such as BIM and cost estimation software
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
