ASSISTANT MANAGER OF FINANCE

What's the job?

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Support, you will assist in implementing and adhering to IHG policies and procedures as well as local compliance requirements. You are responsible for supporting all hotel accounting and financial controls to ensure accuracy, stability, and security of hotel assets.

Your day-to-day

  • Perform professional accounting duties to maintain control over expenses, income, assets, and liabilities.
  • Manage fortnightly payroll, month-end journals, and all month-end closing activities.
  • Assist in weekly and monthly forecasts and P&L review in the absence of the Director.
  • Support leadership in building financial acumen within the business.
  • Maintain control of the general ledger, subledgers, and all financial records.
  • Conduct preliminary reporting and financial analysis.
  • Oversee Income Audits, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Cashier functions.
  • Plan and execute financial duties and projects to meet business objectives.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, budgets, balance sheets, tax returns, and forecasts.
  • Manage financial risks and evaluate short- and long-term financial objectives.
  • Track departmental metrics, KPIs, and performance reports.
  • Provide training to staff on financial processes.
  • Draft procurement processes and authorize purchase orders.
  • Evaluate organizational financial performance and measure ROI.

  • Clear communication and writing skills with high attention to detail.
  • Team player with the ability to inspire colleagues to live the IHG "Winning Ways."
  • Adaptable to varying situations; knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial Systems and Opera PMS advantageous.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' hotel accounting or audit experience, or equivalent education and work experience.
