About the role

Lai Pau Construction Sdn Bhd, a leading construction company based in Melaka Tengah, Melaka, is seeking a talented Project Manager to join their team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in planning, execution and successful delivery of building construction and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization and further develop your expertise in the construction industry.

What you'll be doing

Plan, organize, manage and co-ordinate site activities to ensure smooth program as per program

Ensure all site construction are follow strictly to consultant specifications

Ensure site is safe, including making safety inspections

Coordinate and supervise construction workers

Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations, laws, acts and company business ethical standards

Maintain quality control procedures

Attend site meeting and report to COO accordingly

Report of any discrepancies of drawing to Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Liaise with the client, other construction professional and sometimes members of the public

10)  Negotiate contracts and secure permits and licenses

11)  Review progress and liaise with quantity surveyors to monitor costs

12)  Plan resources for the project

13)  Oversee the project's discretion and ensuring it meets the client's requirements. This includes planning the project schedule and ensuring it's handed over on time

14)  Keep track of the project and ensure it is completed within the deadline.

15)  Identify, evaluate, assess, control and minimize risk of the project

16)  Demonstrate strong leadership qualities

17)  Work with higher management to streamline the project management process

What we're looking for

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field

years of relevant project management experience

Proficiency in using project management software and other relevant tools

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and building codes

Thorough understanding of construction regulations, safety standards and best practices

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances

Strong leadership, organizational, time-management skills

Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical abilities, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
