Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Developer to lead the development of next-generation multiplayer metaverse applications. This role requires expertise in Unreal Engine, cloud architecture (AWS), and multiplayer systems. You will architect scalable virtual worlds, integrate immersive technologies, and deploy persistent experiences that support real-time user interaction across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Game & Metaverse Development

  • Design and implement scalable multiplayer systems using Unreal Engine (C++ & Blueprints).
  • Develop core gameplay mechanics, avatar control, and immersive interactions (e.g., VR/AR/MR).
  • Optimize rendering, physics, and world streaming for real-time performance in large virtual environments.
  • Integrate in-world UI/UX systems and support social features (voice chat, emotes, messaging).

Cloud & Multiplayer Architecture

  • Architect and deploy backend services using AWS (EC2, Gamelift, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
  • Build secure and scalable server infrastructure for real-time synchronization and matchmaking.
  • Implement network replication, latency compensation, and persistent world state management.
  • Lead CI/CD automation and containerized deployment using Docker/Kubernetes.

Platform Integration & Security

  • Manage user authentication (OAuth2, Cognito), secure data pipelines, and anti-cheat measures.
  • Integrate economy systems, in-game transactions, and optional blockchain/NFT modules.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws (GDPR, age restrictions).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Unreal Engine development (C++, Blueprints).
  • Proven expertise in multiplayer networking (client-server, replication, matchmaking).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services for game backend and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of 3D math, physics simulation, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VR/AR development (OpenXR, Oculus SDK, ARKit/ARCore).
  • Knowledge of AI systems (behavior trees, machine learning integration).
  • Experience with blockchain or NFT systems in virtual environments.
  • Prior contribution to a released multiplayer or metaverse title.
  • Familiarity with social features, digital asset marketplaces, or persistent virtual economies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM5, RM8,000.00 per month
