About the role
Everrise Departmental Store Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced HR Operations & Administrator to join our dynamic HR team in Kuching, Sarawak. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in identifying, attracting, and recruiting top talent to support the growth and strategic objectives of our leading retail organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Assist in the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, coordinating interviews and hiring back-office support staff.
- Ensure strict compliance with data protection regulations and maintain confidentiality of all HR-related information and documents.
- Compile, prepare, and manage a wide range of HR and administrative reports, including EA Forms, year-end filing records, statutory submissions and internal data consolidation.
- Prepare annual personnel cost budgets and conduct variance analysis reports for management review.
- Manage the application, renewal and documentation of work permits and special passes for foreign employees.
- Handle the full spectrum of payroll processing for high-profile or senior-level employees, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and timeliness.
- Serve as the system administrator for the HRIS system (i.e. HR2000), including updates, troubleshooting and user support.
- Organise and coordinate staff welfare programmes, including annual dinners, staff gatherings, incentive trips and other engagement activities.
- Liaise with landlords and legal representatives on tenancy matters, including reviewing tenancy agreements, preparing correspondence and providing recommendations to management.
- Update company property tenancy information in NAPIC and manage the renewal of property quit rent payments.
- Manage and update the Company's Annual Return, ensuring timely compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with the Company Secretary on secretarial matters, including preparation of Directors' Resolutions and facilitating the signing process for board members.
What we're looking for
- At least a Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HR Administration or HR operations, preferably within the retail industry.
- Exposure to labour law, company policies and HR best practices is beneficial.
- Experience in payroll, attendance systems or employee documentation is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/HRMS systems.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Time management and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Good teamwork and customer service mindset.
