About the Role:
We are looking for a driven and strategic SME Relationship Manager to grow our portfolio of Small and Medium Enterprises. In this role, you will lead strategic client relationships, drive deal structuring, and potentially mentor junior RMs. If you are passionate about building long-term business partnerships and closing impactful SME and mid-market deals—this one's for you.
Key Responsibility:
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Grow a portfolio of SME clients, including more complex and structured financing transactions.
- Identify new financing opportunities through strategic prospecting, referrals, and ecosystem partnerships.
- Engage with business owners and decision-makers to understand their financing needs, offering tailored financial solutions and ongoing support.
- Prepare, evaluate, and recommend financing proposals for credit assessment. Liaise with internal credit teams to align structuring with risk appetite and policy.
- Provide guidance to junior Relationship Managers and support their development by sharing insights, best practices, and deal strategies.
- Ensure smooth onboarding and documentation with internal stakeholders. Maintain pipeline progress through CRM updates and reporting.
Key Qualities and Requirements:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in in SME banking, commercial finance, or relationship management. This includes working as a Relationship Manager or in roles with direct client-facing responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial solutions to diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record in sourcing new clients, handle mid-sized or structured financing deals
- Leadership or mentoring experience is a strong advantage
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution
- Strong credit understanding and ability to assess business risks
