1. Strategy Development and Implementation

Maximum of 3 main tasks / activities:

a) Develop Policy Framework: Design a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns

with organizational objectives.

b) Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key business units to ensure their needs are met

within the governance structure.

c) Risk & Change Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with data quality

and compliance. Lead initiatives to adapt the governance strategy in response to new

technologies, regulations, or business changes.

1. Governance and Compliance

Maximum of 3 main tasks / activities:

a) Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all data practices comply with international and local data

protection laws like PDPA, GDPR and etc.

b) Audit Coordination: Work with internal and external auditors to review compliance status and

rectify issues.

c) Training and Awareness: Develop and roll out training programs to increase awareness about

data privacy and governance.

1. Data Quality Management

Maximum of 3 main tasks / activities:

a) Quality Standards: Establish and enforce data quality metrics and standards across the

organization.

b) Data Cleansing: Implement processes for cleaning and maintaining data accuracy and

consistency.

c) Monitoring Systems: Deploy tools and methods for ongoing monitoring of data quality. Lead

Data Governance Working Group to address and rectify data quality issues swiftly.

1. Team Leadership and Development

Maximum of 3 main tasks / activities:

a) Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of data governance professionals and

set clear performance goals, provide feedback, and manage team performance.

b) Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources to various data governance projects.

c) Professional Development: Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the

team, including certifications and training in data governance.

Academic qualifications &

professional certificates

: Essential:
• Bachelors / MSc /PhD in Computer Science or Data

Science Software Engineering or Information

System.

• Certifications in data management or governance

(e.g., CDMP, CIPP) are highly desirable.

: Preferred:
•Master's degree or higher in Computer Science,

Information Systems, Business Administration, or a

related field.

Experience / exposure : Essential:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in data

management, with at least 5 years in a senior

leadership role focused on data governance.

• Demonstrated experience in implementing data

governance frameworks in large, complex

organizations.

• Proven track record in managing cross-functional

teams and projects.

: Preferred:
• Exposure in any: DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM or any

related Data Governance Standards.

• Knowledge in regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR,

CCPA) and data privacy practices.
