Supplier Quality Engineer

Role Purpose

To ensure the effective implementation of Supplier Quality Management at Spirit Malaysia, ensuring full

compliance with statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements while maintaining the highest quality

standards.

Key Responsibilities

Vision & Strategy

• Executing the SQ Action Plan to achieve department objectives.

Supplier Performance & Compliance

• Monitor Supplier Performance: Develop, update and track quality data trends, defect rates, and scorecards to ensure adherence to company and customer standards.
• Produce Supplier Quality analysis from data captured and reporting
• Ensure Compliance: Align supplier processes with relevant requirement such as FAA, EASA,AS9100, NADCAP, and customer- specific requirements.
• Produce supplier Audit planning: Execute the audit plan accordingly and ensure closure within the timeline.
• Supplier Audit: Conduct Audit at supplier site as per schedule or planning.

Supplier Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

• Support Non-Conformance Supplier: Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, review Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and ensure Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) completion or closure.
• Containment & Inspection: Support product containment inspections and reporting.
• Support RCCA: Assist supplier in responding to Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.

Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement

• Implement Supplier SQIP and drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Ensure execution of supplier improvement plans, data-driven insights, and promote Kaizen/LEAN initiatives:
• Review supplier improvement plans and ensure closure. Support the development of robust process controls through APQP to maintain consistent quality and improve manufacturing outcomes.
• Provide support and assistance in the supplier Quality Event when required

Collaboration & Communication

• Internal Coordination: Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Supplier Development, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align supplier quality goals.
• External Engagement: Support customer-driven supplier improvement, programs, engagement, and communication efforts.
• Risk Mitigation & Escalation
• Identify High-Risk Suppliers: Implement containment actions and escalate unresolved issues to prevent production disruptions.

Documentation, Training & Compliance

• Information Management: Maintain and disseminate supplier quality updates, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits (AS9100, Nadcap, Spirit Inc., Spirit Europe,etc.).
• Record Control: Ensure compliance with document and record control requirements for SQM.

Leadership & Workplace Culture

• Foster Collaboration: Build cordial and strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Conflict Resolution: Address disputes related to suppliers and team members.
• Promote Safety & Work Culture: Adhere EHS procedures, shop floor regulations, 5S principles, and FOD-free workplace standards.

Performance & Compliance

• Achieve KPIs: Support departmental and company KPIs while maintaining high-quality workstandards.
• Policy Adherence: Comply with company policies, regulations, and operational procedures.
• Task Execution: Perform any additional duties assigned by superiors.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

•Candidate must possess at minimum a degree in related Science or Engineering fields.

• 3 years of working experience in relevant fields.

•Knowledge in relevant quality management system standards (e.g.:- ISO 9001, AS9100 etc).

•QMS / supplier auditing skills will be an advantage.

•Excellent command of English and able to converse in Bahasa Malaysia.

•Demonstrate acumen, interpersonal and planning skills.

• Ability in Computer literature

• Ability to produce report

• Ability to perform under minimal supervision.
