Mining Driver

Job Scope & Responsibilities

Operating heavy machinery: Safely operate heavy-duty dump trucks and other equipment to transport materials such as ore, rock, or waste from one point to another within the mining site.

Loading and unloading materials: Carry out loading and unloading operations, which may involve using hydraulic systems or other devices on the truck.

Route navigation: Follow pre-established routes and schedules within the mine site to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials.

Vehicle inspection and maintenance: Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe and good working condition. Perform minor maintenance checks and report any major mechanical issues to a supervisor or maintenance team.

Adhering to safety protocols: Strictly follow all safety regulations and company procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and obeying traffic signs and speed limits within the site.

Documentation and reporting: Complete required documentation, such as daily logs, maintenance records, and delivery reports. Report any accidents, defects, or violations.

Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate with supervisors and other team members, such as excavator and loader operators, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Environmental awareness: Be mindful of load limitations and the proper distribution of weight to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
