Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a diverse menu featuring Western, Pan Asian, and Tomyam specialty dishes.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes consistently with high quality, taste, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure freshness of ingredients and proper food storage in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Supervise kitchen operations including mise en place, cooking, plating, and cleaning.
  • Innovate and introduce new recipes, seasonal menus, or fusion dishes to attract customers.
  • Monitor portion control, minimize food wastage, and manage cost efficiency.
  • Lead and train junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, hygiene, and kitchen safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment according to health & safety standards.
  • Collaborate with management to plan menus, promotions, and special events.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef specializing in Western and Asian cuisines.
  • Strong knowledge of Thai cuisine, particularly Tomyam and related dishes.
  • Diploma/Certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional training is preferred.
  • Creativity and passion for food presentation and menu innovation.
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Leadership skills to supervise and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Good communication skills in English and/or Bahasa Malaysia.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in restaurants, bars, or hotels.
  • Ability to balance authentic flavors with modern presentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Cost control and inventory management knowledge.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2, RM4,000.00 per month
