Position Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Mixologist with natural communication skills and above average knowledge on wines, liquors, spirits, and classic cocktails. The mixologist will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare to serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. To succeed as a mixology, you should have neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable and personable.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming guest, reading, and listening to people determine beverage preference, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
  • The ability to provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits and ensure quality of all food or beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods in an elegantly appointed environments dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience while following and maintaining all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.
  • Ensure that quality of food/beverage/service provided are consistently maintained and in line with restaurant standards.
  • Planning drinks menus and informing guest about new beverages, specials, and promotions.
  • Checking identification to ensure guest are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and table are well stocked.
  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning table, and washing glasses, utensil, and equipment.
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
  • Constantly obtain guest feedback during operations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Proper and tactful handling of verbal complaints from guest. Handle guest complaints in a timely manner with the appropriate empathy and resolutions.
  • Handling cash, credit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Check the schedule and ensure punctuality at work, multi-tasking assignments for restaurant and bar cleanliness to ensure all in good conditions.
  • Be prepared to work overtime to accommodate the busy period in the restaurant.
  • Complete tasks as assigned and be willing to work overtime within reasonable means as necessary to make sure tasks are completed.
  • Work together with staff on the same level, train and retrain on technical skills and communication skills.
  • Help to guide all staff that are under his/her supervision so that their performance is up to par.
  • Ensure that all associates comply with the grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
  • Constantly keep oneself up to date with industry knowledge and proactively try to improve one's work-related skills.
  • Identify and ensure oneself and fellow colleagues utilise available learning & development resources to develop skills and perform their job efficiently and effectively.
  • Delegate duties as required to ensure the efficient functioning of the department and maintain effective follow up on those duties.
  • Provide a professional support to the restaurant manager whenever deemed necessary.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Support team to reach common goals.
  • Actively represent and upkeep the restaurant brand.
  • To maintain professional language, behavior and appearance that reflects brand standards.
  • To give maximum care to the maintenance of the physical assets of the restaurant within his/her responsibility, and to keep them in the best possible functioning state.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Serve as a role model.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From RM3,500.00 per month
