Position Summary:

  • We are seeking an experienced
    Field Sales Manager (Ocean & Air Freight)
    to lead business development and client acquisition within the
    international freight forwarding and logistics
    sector,
    to be based in either Penang, or KL & Selangor.
  • This role is fully
    focused on new business development/new clients acquisition
    , targeting potential customers in import/export, manufacturing, and trading industries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of
    supply chain management, freight operations, trade compliance, and market trends
    to deliver tailored logistics solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive
    new business acquisition
    through proactive sales prospecting and client engagement within the
    ocean and air freight forwarding
    segments.
  • Develop and implement
    strategic sales plans
    to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify, approach, and secure new customers — focusing on
    hunter-style
    business development activities.
  • Prepare and present
    sales proposals, quotations, and logistics solutions
    to clients.
  • Collaborate closely with internal operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of
    international logistics regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance requirements
    .
  • Analyze
    market conditions, customer needs, and competitor activities
    to identify new business opportunities.
  • Monitor and report
    sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline progress
    to senior management.
  • Represent the company in
    client meetings, industry events, and trade discussions
    .
  • Ensure all business transactions comply with company policies, service standards, and ethical guidelines.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in
    Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related discipline
    .
  • Minimum
    4 years of sales experience
    in
    freight forwarding, ocean freight, or air freight
    sectors.
  • Proven
    sales track record
    with measurable business growth and client acquisition achievements.
  • Minimum
    5 years of management experience
    leading teams or accounts in logistics or supply chain environments.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills — comfortable leading discussions with small groups (2–3 people).
  • Fluent in
    English
    and
    Bahasa Malaysia
    ; proficiency in
    Mandarin or other regional languages
    is an advantage.
  • Excellent
    networking and relationship-building
    skills within the logistics and supply chain sector.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong drive and resilience in achieving sales goals.
  • Willing to work in Penang or KL & Selangor, Malaysia.
