Senior Executive, Plantations

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Executive to oversee our coconut farm operations in Damai Laut, Lumut. Join us and help drive sustainable growth in our plantations division

Your tasks & responsibilities will be to :

1. Plantation Management :
   
   a) Oversee all aspects of coconut cultivation, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, maintenance, and harvesting.
   
   b) Develop and implement farming plans and schedules to maximize yield and ensure sustainable practices.
   
   c) Monitor crop health, identify pest and disease problems, and implement effective control strategies, potentially including organic methods.
   
   d) Ensure proper nutrition of palms through appropriate fertilization schedules and soil management.
   
   e) Develop and implement coconut replanting programs with high-yielding varieties as needed.
2. Operations & Equipment :
   
   a) Manage and allocate resources effectively, including labour, equipment, and materials.
   
   b) Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure (e.g., irrigation systems, drainage).
   
   c) Ensure all farm operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
3. Team Leadership & Management :
   
   a) Train, supervise and motivate a team of farm workers.
   
   b) Coordinate, assign and supervise the work of farm staff, developing work schedules and procedures.
   
   c) Foster a positive work culture and handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
4. Business & Administration :
   
   a) Manage budgets, forecast expenditures, and ensure cost-effective operations.
   
   b) Maintain detailed and accurate records of all farm activities, including production metrics and inventory.
   
   c) Prepare and present regular reports on crop progress, production, quality, and operational efficiency to farm owners or senior management.
   
   d) Develop and market coconut downstream business.
   
   e) Collaborate with buyers, vendors and processors for the marketing and sale of farm products (e.g., whole nuts, copra, coconut water).
5. To assist in acquiring farm certification such as MYGAP and MESTI.
6. To carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management from time to time.

To be eligible for this role, you will require :

1. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field.
2. Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in plantation operations, ideally in coconut, oil palm, or other tree crop environments.
3. Experience in managing field teams and day-to-day estate operations is an advantage.
4. Good understanding of farm machinery, tools, and irrigation systems.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision.
6. Strong knowledge of coconut cultivation, including planting, fertilization, pest & disease control, irrigation, and harvesting processes.
