Associate Engineer

In this role, you are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of solar PV systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Monitoring and Performance Analysis

• Real-time Monitoring:
  Continuously monitor the performance of solar power plants using SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and other monitoring tools.
• Data Analysis:
  Analyze performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and potential issues. Generate reports on plant performance, energy output, and system health.

2.  Preventive and Corrective Maintenance

• Routine Inspections
  : Conduct regular inspections of solar panels, inverters, transformers, and other components to ensure they are operating efficiently.
• Scheduled Maintenance
  : Plan and perform preventive maintenance activities, such as cleaning panels, checking wiring connections, and testing equipment.
• Fault Diagnosis
  : Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot faults or failures in the system, and implement corrective actions to restore normal operation.

3. System Optimization

• Performance Tuning
  : Implement adjustments or upgrades to optimize the performance and efficiency of the solar power system.
• Component Replacement
  : Replace worn-out or faulty components such as inverters, modules, or wiring to maintain optimal system performance.

4. Safety Compliance

• Adherence to Standards
  : Ensure that all O&M activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Safety Inspections
  : Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Emergency Response
  : Develop and execute emergency response plans in case of system failures or safety incidents.

5. Documentation and Reporting

• Record Keeping
  : Maintain detailed records of all O&M activities, system performance, and incidents.
• Reporting
  : Prepare and submit regular O&M reports to management on plant performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

6. Team Coordination and Management

• Supervision
  : Supervise and coordinate the work of O&M technicians and other staff involved in the maintenance activities.
• Training
  : Provide training to junior staff or technicians on proper maintenance procedures and safety practices.

7. Client and Stakeholder Interaction

• Customer Support
  : Work closely with clients to address their concerns, provide updates on plant performance, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Technical Support
  : Provide technical support to clients or stakeholders, including explaining technical aspects and resolving queries related to the operation of the solar power plant.

8. Budget and Inventory Management

• Cost Control
  : Manage the O&M budget, including controlling costs for repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance.
• Inventory Management
  : Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and other resources necessary for maintenance activities.

9. Regulatory Compliance

• Permits and Documentation
  : Ensure that the plant complies with all regulatory requirements, including obtaining and maintaining necessary permits and certifications.
• Environmental Compliance
  : Monitor and manage environmental impacts, ensuring the plant operates within legal environmental guidelines.

10. Continuous Improvement

• Innovation
  : Explore new technologies, tools, and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of O&M activities.
• Feedback Loop
  : Provide feedback to the design and installation teams to help improve future solar power projects based on O&M experiences.

11. Others:
Ad hoc projects when required by management.

JOB COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Renewable Energy) or a related field.
• Total Relevant Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD or similar.
• Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve project-related challenges.
• Proficiency in MS Office (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
