INNOCEAN Malaysia, our newly established office in Kuala Lumpur, is a small but agile team servicing Kia Asia Pacific and Hyundai Malaysia. We specialize in media, event management, social media, account servicing, and public relations, while also serving as brand custodians for regional and local marketing efforts.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Junior or Senior Public Relations and Social Experience Executive to elevate our brand voice and customer engagement across the diverse markets of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This role plays a critical part in shaping public perception, strengthening media relationships, and delivering exceptional social experiences that align with our vision as a leading automotive brand.

You will be at the forefront of building meaningful narratives, driving regional PR strategies, and enhancing digital brand engagement across varied cultural landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

i. Public Relations – Automotive Focus

  • Develop and execute PR strategies that support vehicle launches, innovation stories, and corporate milestones.
  • Manage media relationships across local and selected regional markets, including automotive journalists, tech media, and lifestyle influencers.
  • Localize and distribute press releases, media kits, and executive speeches in collaboration with country teams and agencies.
  • Coordinate local and regional media events, auto shows, and test-drive campaigns to drive brand visibility.
  • Support issues management and ensure consistent, reputation-conscious communication across markets.

ii. Social Experience & Community Engagement

  • Create and implement social engagement strategies tailored to local and APAC audiences, focusing on customer lifestyle, mobility trends, and connected driving experiences alongside assigned social media agencies.
  • Work closely with local teams to ensure social campaigns are culturally relevant and aligned with global brand tone.
  • Monitor social sentiment and trends in key markets to inform content and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with influencers and creators to promote a human-centered automotive experience.
  • Manage social listening and proactive community engagement during launches, crises, or brand moments.

iii. Cross-Functional & Regional Coordination

  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and retail teams across APAC markets to align PR and social campaigns with business priorities.
  • Coordinate with local team, APAC working team, and headquarters to localize global campaigns and ensure message consistency.
  • Liaise with external PR and digital agencies to execute campaigns with precision and creativity.

iv. Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Track KPIs for media coverage, brand sentiment, social engagement, and influencer partnerships.
  • Analyze PR and social campaign results to extract insights and optimize future efforts.
  • Present performance reports to clients, and managements with clear narrative and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • For Junior level, minimum 1-2 years experience
  • For Senior Level, minimum 4 years and above experience
  • Preferable in the automotive, mobility, or tech sector for Junior or Senior Level
  • Proven success in managing regional campaigns, media relations, and brand storytelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; multilingual ability is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools like Cision, Meltwater, Sprinklr, or Brandwatch.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work within tight timelines
  • Contractual full-time position with the possibility of conversion to permanent, subject to the company's discretion.
