Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safety engineering for a wide range of signaling and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Reporting to the Principal Consultant, manage the system assurance framework to achieve the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) objectives.
  • Manage risk assessments for specific discipline areas, being able to independently plan, conduct, and document risk workshops.
  • Support business development and write proposals. Identify potential risks, create method statements, specify clear acceptance criteria, and provide resource and cost estimates.
  • Manage and deliver smaller projects, collaborating with clients to understand project objectives and outcomes, taking guidance from the Project Director as needed.
  • Ensure clarity, monitoring, and management of project scope and time budgets, anticipate and manage risks to meet quality, time, and budget requirements.
  • Take ownership of specific work packages for larger projects and collaborate within a team to deliver high-quality outcomes within set timelines and budgets.
  • Meet client satisfaction targets throughout the project lifecycle by effective communication and stakeholder management.
  • Engage with clients, project stakeholders, and industry participants.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of practical experience as a System Assurance Consultant or similar role within the Rail industry.
  • Degree or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Preferably have a background in railway signaling or related field with experience in auditing/assessing.
  • Proficiency in tools and techniques like FMECA, FTA-ETA would be advantageous.
  • Strong subject knowledge, practical design/application experience, and ability to work independently on projects.
  • Experience in Systems Assurance engineering, including the ability to interpret project documentation, standards, and interfaces.
  • Consultancy environment experience with a focus on client satisfaction and high-quality deliverables.
  • Experience in at least one of the following topics/subsystems/equipment:
    • Train Control and Protection Systems for traditional or high-speed railway lines (e.g., ETCS or CTCS).
    • Train Control and Protection Systems for metro lines (e.g., CBTC).
    • Interlocking and Train/Vehicle Detection systems.
