JOB DESCRIPTION

Favelle Favco Cranes (M) Sdn Bhd is recruiting a new batch of Commissioning Engineers. Commissioning Engineers will be trained under the supervision of our Trainers and Production Department for 1 to 2 years first in our headquarter in Negeri Sembilan. Commissioning Engineers will be made sure to familiar with our crane products before the Company send them to service our customers at site (Onshore / Offshore). During the training period, Commissioning Engineers are entitled to all the staff benefits. After completed the training, Commissioning Engineers will be assigned to serve at our clients' sites in Sarawak and Sabah.

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the work planning, work package preparation, pre-installation preparation and inspection, overseeing & coordinating the installation, execution of testing and commissioning according to the defined procedures, performs hands-on troubleshooting, monitoring and reporting work progress, witnessing final testing and acceptance of equipment, coordinating and rectifying the punch list highlighted by client, compilation of all documentations for inclusion in both Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test dossier, and ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installation crane in accordance with the client's specification within his scope of work defined by the Project Manager.

1. Internal Process:

a. In liaison with Project Engineer, and Testing and Commissioning team, Commissioning Engineer shall obtain the crane erection and installation schedule, Internal Factory Acceptance Test schedule, External Factory Acceptance Test schedule, Pre-delivery Inspection schedule and crane delivery schedule.

b. In liaison with Project Engineer, Assembly team and Testing and Commissioning team to ensure all the required tools, material and equipment are well prepared and arranged by Testing and Commissioning team prior to commencement of work.

c. In liaison with Project Engineer, Engineering team, Assembly team and Testing and Commissioning team to ensure all the required drawings, settings notes, commissioning and testing procedures, checklist, and user manual are well prepared and obtained prior to commencement of work.

d. In liaison with Project Engineer, Assembly team, QAQC team and Testing and Commissioning team to ensure all the major parts of the crane have been fully assembled and inspected by related parties with no outstanding work or item prior to commencement of crane erection and installation on test pad.

e. Overseeing and coordinating work with Testing and Commissioning team during crane erection and installation on the test pad.

f. Verify the completion of the erection activities and obtain and verify the hand over report or checklist, define the associated punch list if required.

g. Perform pre-commissioning checking & troubleshooting with Testing and Commissioning team.

h. Execute engine fire-up and individual functional tests of the equipment of the designated scope with Testing and Commissioning team.

i. Prepare the commissioning activities for the concerned crane with Testing and Commissioning team.

j. Set-up the necessary tools including associated calibration certificate with Testing and Commissioning team.

k. Execute the commissioning activities of the designated scope of works strictly following the safety rules and according to the quality standards with Testing and Commissioning team.

l. Manage the non-conformity raised during the commissioning activities and feedback to Project Engineer, Assembly team, Fabrication team and Engineering team for further action and keep the record.

m. Send daily report to the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and the Head of Test and commissioning section including progress of works and forecast.

n. Coordinate the Test and Commissioning team and Subcontractor staff, if any.

o. Complete the commissioning activities.

p. In liaison with Project Engineer, and Testing and Commissioning team, Commissioning Engineer shall participate in Internal Factory Acceptance Test and External Factory Acceptance Test.

q. Manage to have a minimalist punch list (issue an internal punch list if necessary).

r. In liaison with Project Engineer, Assembly team, QAQC team and Factory Testing and Commissioning team to ensure all the punch points have been rectified or resolved by related parties prior to crane delivery.

s. In liaison with Project Engineer, QAQC team, Packing team, and Pre-delivery Inspection team, participate and monitor during Pre-delivery Inspection, packing list verification and final inspection.

t. Obtain an original copy of release note from QAQC team and delivery order from Logistic.

2. External Process:

a. In liaison with Project Engineer, Engineering team, Assembly team and Factory Testing and Commissioning team to ensure all the required drawings, settings notes, commissioning and testing procedures, checklist, factory commissioning records and user manual are well prepared and keep in approved Work Package prior to mobilization for site installation and commissioning.

b. In liaison with Project Engineer, and Client, Commissioning Engineer shall obtain the scope of work, packages inspection schedule, crane erection and installation schedule, crane commissioning and test schedule, and Site Acceptance Test schedule.

c. In liaison with Project Engineer and Client to ensure all the required tools, material, manpower and equipment are well prepared and arranged prior to commencement of work.

d. In liaison with Project Engineer and Client during the packages inspection to ensure all the parts and components of the crane are available in good condition and the quantity and specification are tally with packing list and delivery order prior to assemble the parts of the crane at site.

e. Coordinating and executing parts assembly activities according to drawing and quality standards within the scope of work agreed by all parties.

f. Perform individual functional tests of the equipment of the designated scope.

g. Overseeing and coordinating work with other groups during crane erection and installation on the pedestal.

h. Verify the completion of the erection activities and define the associated punch list if required.

i. Prepare the commissioning activities for the concerned crane.

j. Set-up the necessary tools including associated calibration certificate.

k. Execute the commissioning activities of the designated scope of works strictly following the safety rules and according to the quality standards.

l. Manage the non-conformity raised during the commissioning activities and record it in crane commissioning report.

m. Send daily report to the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Client including progress of works and forecast.

n. Coordinate and manage the subcontractor staff.

u. Be responsible for commissioning communications and updates.

o. Complete the commissioning activities.

p. Perform Site Acceptance Test and witness by client and third party.

q. Manage to have a minimalist punch list.

r. In liaison with Project Engineer and client to ensure punch points are closed for designated crane.

s. Fill out Site Acceptance Test reports and manage to have it signed by the Client and third party.

t. Hand over the crane to client and submit the signed Site Acceptance Test Report to Project Engineer for recording purpose.

3. General:

a. Insure project schedules are being met.

b. Acting as key point for customer relations and maintain strong client relationships.

c. Perform as lead on small or moderately sized commissioning projects.

d. Track & report issues including problem solving.

e. Develop, coordinate, & participate in training programs.

f. Lead the performance of assigned field services and be responsible for planning, hands-on troubleshooting, analysis, and reporting of complex tasks.

g. Guide less experienced Commissioning Engineers and instruct them in proper and safe operation of equipment.

h. Duties may include warranty, maintenance and repair work in the field and often work non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.

i. Select the most effective approaches and adapt standard practices and procedures to resolve complex technical problems.

j. Any other tasks assigned by Project Manager as needed from time to time.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics) or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply as intensive trainings will be given.
• Preferably candidates who like to hands-on and not afraid to get their hands dirty. This job is not for the faint hearted as they are required to work at site (onshore / offshore) and work on a crane.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent team player.
• Result oriented and proactive behavior with minimum supervision.
• This job is based in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Candidates must be willing to work in Seremban.
