Job Purpose:

To develop and deliver exceptional operational and commercial standards throughout all stores. To ensure compliance in all areas of operational activity and drive sales and profitability through the performance and development of direct reports, whilst managing within agreed budgets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operational Planning and Management

  • Develop and review an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization which includes the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the organization.
  • Review, facilitate, and monitor all operational processes and recommend changes if needed for optimal efficiency
  • Ensure that all stores adhere to compliance requirements in all areas of operational activity, company policies and procedures
  • Role model the leadership behaviours that support the business culture
  • Identify underperforming stores and develop a business plan to address and manage issues effectively including mystery shopping results
  • Facilitate coordination and communication with various other departments within the organizational structure
  • Develop and ensure an effective network of communication across all stores to ensure shared knowledge and understanding of business activity
  • Career planning and development of managers to drive the business forward through training
  • Regularly monitor local competitors and communicate findings to Head Office to action as appropriate
  • Create a positive environment that results in stable retention and a reduction of labour turnover
  • Manage the opening process for new stores, by proposing new store locations, providing official sign-off for new stores, and monitoring the operational processes related to the store opening (store development, layout planning, marketing, etc)
  • Supervise the management of store portfolio including opening/closing and remodels

Visual Merchandising

  • Collate and provide constructive feedback on VM standards to the business
  • Ensure that the visual presentation of all stores represents the brand image
  • Ensure proper and quick execution of Buyer’s store Planograms/or any changes

Customer Service

  • Ensure the retail brands are delivered to a consistently high standard throughout all stores with a customer-first culture
  • Builds and promotes a workplace culture which is aligned with one of the DNA – Caring for Parents

Inventory and Loss Prevention

  • Analyze and ensure the effective management of stock, audits and shrinkage throughout all stores in line with company guidelines to prevent financial loss
  • Apply external and internal security procedures.

Human Resources Planning

  • Review, determine and recruit staff based on organizational needs as well as make adjustments when necessary
  • Ensure that all staff receives an orientation to the organization and that appropriate training is arranged
  • Develop an operational L&D plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization and meet sales budget given
  • Career planning and development of managers to drive the business forward through training.

Performance Management

  • Implement and ensure a performance management/career process for all staff which includes monitoring performance on an ongoing basis and conducting an annual performance review for career progression and recognition in line with the organization’s reward policies
  • Develop sales incentives and staff motivation programs.

Financial planning and management

  • Work with Directors to prepare comprehensive store budgets
  • Set budget and propose quotation for major renovation works within the company
  • Approve expenditures within the authority delegated by senior management
  • Analyse all relevant financial reports and sales data, to make sound commercial decisions to drive financial performance

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or diploma with 3-5 years of previous manager experience and 5-8 years of retail operations experience/or Diploma holder with 5-8 years of previous manager experience and 10-12 years retail operations experience
  • Muti-site management experience
  • Experience in fast-paced, highly competitive, multi-tasking, high volume and multi brands environment
  • Inspiring leader capable of operating in both strategic and operational levels
  • Possess the drive for continuous improvement and seek new challenges
