Job Purpose

An Data Analyst & Pricing Engine Developer is responsible for interpreting data, analysing results and providing actionable recommendations to improve business operation processes and performance. The candidate will also play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining General Insurance pricing engine to ensure accuracy, efficiency and scalability.

The Job

Data Analyst

  • Collecting and interpreting data from multiple sources, identifying trends and patterns
  • Developing and maintaining data cubes, and data analytics tools
  • Cleaning, validating data and perform data reconciliation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Analyzing complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and presenting findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions
  • Creating visualizations dashboard and reports to communicate findings effectively
  • Extract and prepare ISM Quarterly submission report and ensure timely submission adhering to the regulatory deadline
  • Support and perform verification testing as required during BI platform scheduled maintenance downtime
  • Act as the Department Data Officer (DDO) for BIT Department and attend relevant training or briefing conducted by Data Governance department


Pricing Engine Developer

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Pricing, Underwriters and Business Finance stakeholders to understand pricing requirements and business objectives
  • Designing and developing pricing algorithm and models in the pricing engine to support new product development request or re-pricing enhancement approved by the Product & Pricing Development Committee
  • Maintaining pricing engine components, ensuring high performance and reliability
  • Supporting User Acceptance Testing or Unit testing conducted by user that are related to the pricing engine.
  • Ensure proper governance of the pricing engine versioning and effective date of each version
  • Coordinate with vendor for the code compilation and deployment of the pricing changes into UAT and/or production environment.
  • akes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.


Our Requirements

  • Degree Holder in Computer Science, Actuarial, Statistics, Data Science, Information Technology or any other related disciplines
  • At least 5 years working experience as Data Analyst or similar capacity.
  • Good knowledge of General Insurance core system, products and services is preferred.
  • Excellence analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques (e.g.: SQL, Phyton, Excel)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g.: Sisense, Tableau)
  • Experience in pricing algorithm and models development in pricing engine system
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
