The Role:

  • Assist in designing a strategic framework which includes an assessment of the size of the transition block and recommendation for the best transition approach.
  • Assist in determining the business strategy post implementation of IFRS 17 which includes:
  1. Analysis of differences in profitability measurement under current and IFRS 17 reporting requirements.
  2. Analysis on the emergence pattern of IFRS 17 profit and to come up with recommendation on how it can be enhanced.
  • Design of the Transition Model and Impact Assessment.
  • Determine business strategy post implementation of IFRS 17.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
  • Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practice.
  • Other responsibilities entailed


The Person:

  • Possessed a recognized Tertiary in Statistics / Maths / Actuarial Studies Professional
  • Minimum 1- 2 years actuarial related experience
  • Passed some actuarial exams in Faculty of Actuaries, Scotland / Institute of Actuaries, England / Institute of Actuaries, Australia / Society of Actuaries, US.
  • Professional actuarial standards and code of conduct
  • Understanding of IFRS 17 reporting requirements
  • Good communication skills - written and verbal
  • Prophet - Skills in product modelling & projection
  • Fresh graduate can be considered but with good results.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
