The Cloud Application Engineer for PRIME Project: Financing is a key player within the Project Team, functioning at the intersection of technical support, system maintenance, and configuration. Post project delivery, as Level 2 support, the individual will bridge the gap between the Product Owner (Level 1 support) and the Systems Vendor/Cloud Service Provider (Level 3 support).

In addition to resolving technical issues and optimizing system performance, this role will collaborate with the Systems Vendor/ Cloud Service Provider during system development stages. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the Cloud Application Engineer is tasked with promoting continuous improvement in system efficiency, user satisfaction, and project delivery, contributing directly to our strategic objectives.

As part of the Project Core Team Member, the Cloud Application Engineer is expected to fulfill essential roles in the project delivery stage to drive, lead and carry/execute selected workstream/tasks under the project, as assigned by the Project Director. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Actively participate in system development stages alongside the Systems Vendor/ Cloud Service Provider, ensuring project completion within budget and time constraints.
  • Provide cost-effective Level 2 support for the financing systems, optimizing system performance to reduce downtime and prevent loss of productivity.
  • Cooperate closely with the Product Owner to comprehend system issues and user requirements, aligning system performance with user expectations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and implement updates and configuration changes to respond to evolving user needs and enhance user experience
  • Ensure project delivery are outcome oriented with benefits for external and internal customers, along with development mandate. Contribute to the organization's community engagement initiatives by promoting accessibility and inclusivity in system design and function.
  • Encourage a community-oriented approach within the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, self-organizing and transparency being embedded.
  • To be part of “T-shaped” team members with cross-functional capabilities while at the same time have specific expertise in select domain. Able to contribute beyond individual contributor mindset (i.e. team objective oriented).
  • Ensure project delivery are carried out with project intended outcome as underlying principles in guiding micro-level development decisions.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement best practices for project delivery, system maintenance, support, and striving to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Vendor/Cloud Service Provider for Level 3 support, ensuring swift resolution of complex issues to maintain smooth system operations.
  • Seek opportunities for operational improvement, learning from each sprint and incorporating feedback for enhanced agility and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Min Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University, preferably in Computer Science/IT/Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years (or strong demonstration of equivalent capability) of relevant experience in areas such as Cloud Engineer/Software Engineer/IT Application Support will be key.
  • At least 1 year experience in supporting applications on cloud. 
  • Direct experience in Agile/Scrum projects implementation will be key advantage.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Product Management : Knowledge of product management principles and practices is crucial. This includes experience with Agile Scrum methodology, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and product lifecycle management.
  • Technical Proficiency:  Deep understanding of financing systems, including the nuances of system maintenance, configuration, and project delivery.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:  Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile:  Familiarity with Scrum practices and Agile methodologies is essential.
  • Project Delivery:  Experience in collaborating with system vendors during the project delivery stage, contributing technical expertise to ensure effective system implementation.
  • Communication Skills:  Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration:  Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, building strong relationships with the Product Owner and Systems Vendor/Cloud Service Provider.
  • Continuous Improvement:  Commitment to the principles of continuous improvement, constantly seeking ways to improve system performance, user satisfaction, and project delivery processes.
  • Stakeholder Management:  Proficiency in managing diverse stakeholder expectations and relationships, including end-users and vendors.
