Our client is a trusted provider and supplier of healthcare products with presence in the South East Asia region. They are looking for an experienced IT Director to set the vision, direct the strategy, and provide the direction and support for IT solutions that will enhance mission-critical business operations.

Based in PJ Malaysia, the Regional IT Director is responsible for all aspects of the organisation’s information technology and systems. Working closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organisation, you should possess in-depth knowledge of the current and upcoming advancements of the IT field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritising IT initiatives; and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organisation
  • Develop and implement all IT strategies, policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standard, purchasing and service provision.
  • Manage IT investments and improvement projects based on business strategic objectives and maximum benefit, within planned operating and capital budgets.
  • Manage the entire IT function, including IT operations, infrastructure and applications, in ensuring that IT services are delivered at desired service levels effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to the IT team, including setting goals and objectives, evaluating performance, and providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify IT needs and opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Manage the performance of third-party vendors, contractors and service providers for quality and cost effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and cyber security, representing the organisation as its Data Protection Officer (DPO)
  • Keep abreast with latest technology trends and developments to discover ways the organisation can gain competitive advantage
  • Develop and implement IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the organisation.
  • Deep understanding of customer journeys and business operations in designing enhanced user experiences.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science (or similar) or equivalent experience. You possess at least 15 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure and applications, and at least 5 years as a Regional IT Director or similar leadership roles. You have experience in developing and implementing IT strategies, infrastructure and policies, preferably in a commercial, corporate, distribution and/or trading environments. With excellent leadership, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, you are able to problem-solve issues using a strategic business mindset. You possess strong knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as data privacy and security, to devise relevant policies and governance. With experience in managing budgets and delivering IT services at quality level, you are constantly up-to-date with the latest technology trends and developments.
