Key responsibilities- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address microbiological specifications, complaints, and quality issues, ensuring continuous improvement through corrective and preventive actions.
- Support and motivate staff by assisting the microbiologist in conducting training to enhance awareness, competency, and skills of technicians and operators.
- Assist in coordinating the company's self-audit program.
- Ensure the microbiological quality assurance of finished products and raw materials, conducting testing according to approved methods, and contributing to product quality improvements.
- Perform environmental monitoring tests according to the sampling plan, maintain the cleanliness of workstations and the lab, and manage the disposition of retained samples.
- Oversee the proper setup and maintenance of microbiological laboratory instruments and equipment, supervise a team of Microbiological Lab Technicians, and improve product quality through analysis of test results.
- Keep documentation current and aligned with best practices. Conduct GMP and GLP training, supervise cleaning procedures, and enhance testing methods' accuracy and precision through ongoing investigation.
- Assist in developing product specifications for microbiological parameters and evaluating microbial aspects of new trial products.
- Provide microbiological testing and reporting services for other company sites as required.
- Train new employees and provide on-the-job hygiene training for operators, including sampling and ATP swab testing, and evaluate cleanliness after CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures.
- Report any food safety management system (FSMS) issues and collaborate on all related activities, such as HACCP and audits.
- Maintain GLP standards and assist the microbiologist in aligning laboratory systems with ISO17025 guidelines.
- Adegree in a scientific discipline, preferably Microbiology or Food Science.
- Minimum 1 year of working experience.
- Experience in a microbiology laboratory particularly in food manufacturing (e.g., internship experience), is preferred.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to use Excel for reporting and data management.
