Job Description
  • To assist the supervisor in carrying out his function of efficiently administering and organizing the Stewarding department
  • To lead and supervise a shift that includes inspecting kitchen areas, washing areas, and garbage disposal area
  • To ensure that there are enough supplies of chinaware, glassware, silverware and kitchen ware for daily usage
  • To establish par stock and supervise inventory taking of all chinaware, glassware, silverware and kitchen utensils
  • To investigate and report any breakages or theft
  • To report any hazards in the kitchen areas
  • To prepare the duty roster for all stewards
  • To ensure a high standard of hygiene in the kitchen areas
  • To liaise with pest specialist in solving pest problems in the Hotel 
  • To conduct departmental SOP training for all staff


Work Experience

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Steward in 4 or 5 star operation
  • Thorough professional knowledge of culinary production basics
  • Thorough knowledge of kitchen cutlery, utensils etc
  • Have strong leadership and communication skills
  • Cleaning Chemical knowledge

 

Skills

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English
  • Have the ability to prioritize workload assignments
  • Team work
