Job Description

Onyx Studio is a dynamic and innovative video game development studio known for its dedication to crafting immersive and captivating gaming experiences. We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Director to join our talented team and contribute to the development of AAA titles.

As a Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical landscape of our video game projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of game development, ensuring the integration of cutting-edge technologies and the highest level of technical quality in our games.

Skills & Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical vision and strategy for game development projects, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and proficiency in Unreal Engine, utilizing its full capabilities to enhance game development.
  • Collaborate closely with both the art and development teams to ensure seamless integration of artistic vision and technical implementation.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of game development, including engine performance, tool development, and technical problem-solving.
  • Play a key role in the development and shipping of AAA titles on console and PC platforms, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
  • Facilitate effective interdepartmental communication, acting as a bridge between various teams to ensure cohesive and efficient workflows.
  • Mentor and guide technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the gaming industry, and evaluate their potential application in our projects.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in video game development, with a proven track record of shipping AAA titles on console or PC.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in Unreal Engine, with a solid understanding of its architecture and capabilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a technical team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable with interdepartmental collaboration and able to effectively bridge the gap between art and development.
  • A problem-solver mindset with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field is preferred.
  • Passion for video games and a strong understanding of the gaming industry.
