Cardiology Technician

Salary range: CI$49,800 - CI$66,984 per annum

The Cardiology Technician provides high quality patient-centred cardiology services at the Health Services Authority and Faith Hospital as needed. The candidate provides cardiac diagnostic procedures, interprets and reports on all investigations carried out independently or under Cardiologist supervision as required.

Primary Responsibilities include:

1. Conducting and recording images of adult and paediatric electrocardiogram (ECG), phonocardiogram, echocardiogram, and stress tests using electronic equipment.
2. Preparing cardiology patients for diagnostic testing and ensuring patient comfort.
3. Fitting and interpreting Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor (ABPM) and Holter ECG.
4. Assisting physicians during non-invasive cardiac procedures, including exercise and pharmacologic stress tests.
5. Recording supply inventory levels and restocking the supply storeroom accordingly.
6. Handling emergencies during TMT, Stress, and ECHO tests.

Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate must possess an Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology with three (3) years’ experience working as a cardiology technician OR possess a Diploma in Cardiology Technology from a recognized institution with at least five (5) years’ experience. Must have excellent knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, diagnosis, and treatment. The candidate must have the ability to use cardiological equipment, such as EKG machinery, and proven ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment. Excellent bedside manners and interpersonal skills are required, along with a proven teamwork mentality and ability to collaborate with co-workers.
