Actuarial Assistant Manager/ Manager with responsibilities for Prophet management, stress testing, and business planning.

Job Description:

Prophet Modelling

  • In charge of managing the Prophet model to ensure accuracy and consistency of the results produced by the actuarial model. This includes modelling new products, supporting enhancements, DCS modelling for model paint files, and ensuring good model control.
  • Ensure the workspace is ready for the reporting team for month-end closing.
  • Preparation of relevant documentation and proper audit trail.
  • Provide continuous efforts to enhance Prophet Workspace.
  • Perform model validation on the Prophet Model.
  • Modify/review changes to the Prophet workspace as per change requests received.
  • Assist the IFRS17 team on Prophet modelling-related setup.
  • Perform Prophet user access review.
  • Act as a subject matter expert of Prophet.
  • Support audit on Prophet-related queries.
  • Manage GETB server space and departmental desktop connectivity.


Special Project

  • Stress testing (including FCR stress test, ICAAP, Capital injection, Group stress test, Group ICAAP, Climate risk stress test, ORSA stress test, adhoc stress test, etc.).
  • Business planning and forecasting.
  • Experience studies.
  • Provide support in special projects (i.e., M&A, partnership proposals).
  • Perform departmental roles such as Department Risk Officer (DRO)/ Department Compliance Officer (DCO)/ Data Protection Officer (DDO).


Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead a small team and provide sufficient guidance for the team to complete their allocated task timely and accurately
  • Key person in charge of liaising with the group office or sister companies for Prophet-related issues.
  • Have regular one-on-one sessions with the team.


Job Specification:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science or equivalent with good progress in actuarial qualifications.
  • More than 3 years of experience in Life Insurance. Experience in Family Takaful is a plus.
  • Strong actuarial knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Modeling experience in Prophet and DCS.
  • Familiarity with local regulations is an advantage.
  • Strong desire to continuously acquire knowledge and deliver high-quality work.
  • Proficient in English and Malay (both written and verbal).
  • Displays a high level of trust and sense of responsibility.
  • A good team player and able to lead junior team members.
