Job Description

The opportunity

The role of Assistant Manager, GHNW Planning and Forecasting includes preparing annual business plan, monthly forecast, Embedded Value reporting, and capital management. This role reports to the GHNW Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

Business Plan and Financial Forecast
  • Work with FP&A team on annual business plan and monthly financial forecast exercises, to produce financial projections of earnings, CSM, capital position and new business value, including scenario analysis.
  • Prepare annual New Business Plan for products open to new business and new product profitability and risk analysis.
  • Monitor business performance against forecast and provide quality analysis with key drivers of business result to help drive company growth.
  • To assist management to engage relevant stakeholders and prepare relevant papers/ documents to drive business plan discussion and approval.


Capital Management
  • Prepare Local Capital Plan - local basis capital projections including available capital (split into local earnings, remittance/injection, and other operational capital), required capital, free surplus, Organic Capital Generation, and local solvency metric.
  • Prepare analysis of new business capital generation/consumption by product.
  • Develop and monitor capital strategies to optimize use of capital for support business growth and remittance.
  • Prepare annual capital Top Up/Top Down paper.
  • Provide the Local Capital Report (LCR), and 5 Quarter Forecast (Quarterly)


Embedded Value Reporting
  • Prepare Embedded Value reports
  • Optimize operational and governance framework to ensure activities are conducted effectively.

What we are looking for
  • Education/Training - Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial
  • Experience - At least 5 years relevant experience and at least 2 years supervisory experience
  • Professional/Trade Qualification - preferably near attainment of Associateship or Fellowship
  • Strong leadership skill
  • Strong organizational, modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Computer Proficiency - AXIS, Ms Office
