Responsibilities
SUMMARY
The TSOM Software group of the Nano Surfaces business of Bruker Corporation is hiring a Software Engineer at the Bruker BPEN facility to participate in the design and development of TSOM's tribology applications, with a primary focus on the tribology products. These applications control precision equipment, capture and manipulate data, and present meaningful measurement results to the user. The Software Engineer will work as part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team with scientists, application specialists, and other engineers on all phases of the software development lifecycle.
CORE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the code maintenance of the TriboLab Machine control software as well as the Analysis software tool
This includes adding new features, testing and debugging.
Responding agilely to changing market needs and customer requirements.
Cooperate with and support a global, multidisciplinary team.
Approximately 10% travel required.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Principles of modern software engineering and the software development lifecycle. Experience developing applications for Microsoft Windows platform, including .NET framework /WPF-based applications and legacy C/C++ MFC-based ones. Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio (at least VS 2008, better VS 2012 or later). Experience using InstallShield. Work effectively with a geographically distributed team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Desirable
Experience implementing support for various hardware options: motion control, data acquisition devices, serial devices, etc. Experience implementing high performance Graphical presentations, like interactive 2D data visualization. Experience with surface analysis tools.EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum BS in engineering, physics, or related technical field.
