Purpose Statement: As an EDA Engineer at Plexus Engineering Solutions (Penang Design Center), you will design and develop electronic hardware for products across a wide range of industries. This role collaborates with talented software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing and test engineers throughout all phases of the product development life cycle - from idea and conceptualize; through requirements, design, and development; to manufacturing transition and into the market.

Key Job Accountabilities:

Knowledgeable and Experienced in multiple phases of the Plexus product realization process which includes - conceptualize, Design, Commercialize, Manufacture, Fulfill, Sustain.

Develops engineering/product concepts that are high-quality, cost-appropriate, and satisfy the customer's requirements independently without direction from mentors or functional management.

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in appropriate tools and equipment to perform necessary design work including design creation, design analysis, and design verification.

Participates in proposal development, with support, through the identification of project tasks, durations, interdependencies, risks, and assumptions.

Demonstrates effective communications (teleconference, email, and in-person) through interaction with customers (internal and external) regarding project technical subject matter.

Additional Accountabilities: 

You will be part of the EDA Design team to create Electronic component symbols & geometries that relates to the printed circuit boards design.

Ability to define the connectivity between the schematic symbol and the related PCB geometry land pattern pins to support PCB design.

Ability to assign and manage all library symbols and geometry land pattern names to ensure quality and consistency across all libraries. This library will be used by Global Plexus.

Ensure part quality is meeting the requirements and own process improvement for the team.

Ability to handle different EDA tools.

Ability to perform task in Cadence & Altium for schematic symbol and geometry is a plus.

Education & Experience:

Master / Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or similar discipline or, with equivalent experience; or

Good command of understanding on Electronic Components Circuitry/Specification.

Knowledge of EDA tools.

Ability to work in cross-functional team environment.

Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Knowledge of PCB Design, bare board fabrication and PCBA processes is a plus.

Knowledge in 3D Model View and good understand of geometry terminology.

Skills & Abilities:

Possesses strong learning agility and passionate in mastering EDA.

Passionate in developing products that meet product requirements and customer expectations.

Strong computer skills, decision making, problem solving and excellent verbal / written communication skills.

Ability to work in a cross-functional and cross cultural team environment.

Possess the skills and passion to mentor junior engineers as needed.
