Job Title: Malaysian Tax Manager

Position Overview:

Working as part of a diverse global tax team, the Malaysian Tax Manager will play an important role in managing the tax reporting and compliance effort of a fast-paced global medical device manufacturing company. The Malaysian Tax Manager will be responsible for the tax affairs of the Malaysian business including but not limited to tax compliance filings for corporate tax, withholding taxes, sales tax, and any other tax related issues, including Malaysian cross border tax matters. The Malaysian Tax Manager will be responsible for registrations, statutory filings and applications, audits, communication with the Malaysian tax authorities and support the compliance and reporting for a licensed manufacturing warehouse. The Malaysian Tax Manager will be part of the Malaysia accounting team and report to the International Senior Manager of Tax located in Europe and support key projects and potential business development opportunities in Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

To calculate and pay tax payments, including estimates, the annual tax return and withholding tax obligations.To ensure accurate and compliant tax returns are filed and taxes paid on time.To support periodic reporting to MIDA and compliance with Pioneer Status requirements.To manage all tax related audits including CITA, SST, export/import duty taxes, including correspondence and appeals.To prepare/ review the Malaysian provisional tax computations for MY and USGAAP accounting. To support the monthly reporting for a licensed manufacturing warehouse on schedules M1 and M2, including reconciliation with suspended import duty and SST transaction activity.To support the payroll function, ensuring all social taxes for expatriates are accurate.To manage intercompany transactions and ensure associated transfer pricing documentation is compliant with regulations.To keep abreast of latest tax developments and changes to tax regulations and analyze the implications to the company.Monitor tax compliance matters of regional overseas companies and provide necessary tax compliance and advisory support.Appoint and liaise with tax advisors when required for routine and non-routine tax work.Liaison with other functions on local Malaysian and Malaysian cross border tax impacts including procurement, manufacturing, legal, planning, HR, and business development.Participate in and/or lead projects focusing on continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

University degree in business, finance, accounting, or related fieldMinimum 8 – 10 years of relevant experience in a Tax Manager roleGood understanding of Malaysian Taxes (mainly Corporate Taxes and SST)Extensive level of experience in a multinational company either in a tax function or finance areas with exposure to taxes or from an accounting and tax services firm.Experience with SAP S/4HANA enterprise resource planning systemAble to partner with global stakeholders to meet Insulet objectives.Experience with the tax aspects of a Malaysian licensed manufacturing warehouse is a plus.
