ISP Malaysia Role Profile Straits International School RawangHEAD OF PRIMARYPurpose of RoleThe Head of Primary is the Learning Leader of the Primary School and is accountable for the continuous improvement of the School in maximising the learning for all students. The Principal delegates the day-to-day responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the Primary School to the Head of Primary. The Head of Primary is a key part of the Whole School Strategic Team responsible for setting the direction of the whole school and ensuring that all parts of the school have the same strategic aims and direction. The Head of Primary works in a collaborative way and is supported by Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Primary School.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Primary School curriculum.
  • Lead and manage a team of educators, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

Academic Excellence

  • Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the Primary School.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing interventions and support where necessary.

  • Oversee the development and use of assessment tools to track and improve student performance.

Community Engagement

The person fulfilling the role of Head of Primary will be able to demonstrate the following attributes and leadership qualities:

  • The gravitas to inspire confidence and respect in pupils, parents and staff.
  • Experience in leading academic/ teaching and learning teams.

Requirements:
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE / QTS).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of teaching experience.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to deliver a balanced, broad, and differentiated curriculum.
  • Skilled in providing well-planned, rigorous, and engaging learning experiences.
  • High expectations for learners, fostering inspiration and challenge.
  • Promote a well-organised and inspiring learning environment.
  • Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset across all aspects of school life.
  • Passionate and committed to going above and beyond for the school community.
  • Ability to pass an International Child Protection Certificate (UK) to work with children & able to provide Criminal Background Check covering the previous 10 years employment history.
  • Contract: Fixed Term (2 years) – renewal depending on performance
  • Able to commence in January 2025
