The Role
As a Content Lead, you are the driving force behind the development and execution of a comprehensive content marketing strategy.
Your role encompasses overseeing site and blog optimization, managing a central content media hub, maintaining editorial finesse, and ensuring a consistent brand voice.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you play a pivotal role in user experience optimization, multichannel content integration, and content distribution strategies.
Your commitment to data-driven decision-making contributes to driving significant reach, enhancing reputation, and fostering revenue growth through strategic content initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Marketing Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy, meticulously identifying target audiences and crafting detailed buyer personas.
- Map content to the buyer's journey, ensuring a seamless and strategic alignment with various stages of the customer lifecycle. Continuously assess and refine the content strategy to adapt to evolving market dynamics and business objectives.
Site and Blog Optimisation:
- Optimise website and blog content for search engines, ensuring it meets the highest standards of visibility and relevance.
- Implement best practices for proper keyword usage, meta tags, and URL structures to enhance search engine visibility and drive organic traffic. Employ advanced SEO techniques to contribute significantly to overall traffic growth through organic channels.
Content Media Hub Management:
- Take charge of creating and maintaining a centralised content media hub or library, ensuring it serves as a dynamic repository accessible to various teams and channels. Foster a collaborative environment where content can be easily shared and utilised across the organisation, promoting efficient and effective content utilisation.
Editorial Finesse:
- Maintain high editorial standards, balancing creativity and accuracy in all content.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to generate content that is both engaging and aligned with commercial objectives.
- Oversee the endtoend production of various content types, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to maintaining highquality standards. Ensure content is not only of exceptional quality but also deeply relevant to the target audience, aligning seamlessly with the brand voice and narrative.
Brand Communications and Strategy:
- Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all content touchpoints. Collaborate with the marketing team to seamlessly integrate brand messaging into content.
User Experience Optimisation:
- Collaborate with the UX/UI team to ensure content enhances the overall user experience on the ecommerce platform. Conduct regular content audits to identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
Multichannel Content Integration:
Content Distribution, Syndication, and Optimisation:
- Optimise content for each distribution channel, utilising datadriven insights to maximise reach, engagement, and impact. Implement innovative strategies to boost traffic growth and expand the brand's digital footprint.
Driving Reach, Reputation, and Revenue:
- Regularly monitor content performance metrics using advanced tools such as Google Analytics, translating data into informed, datadriven decisions. Drive brand visibility, enhance reputation, and significantly contribute to revenue growth through the implementation of strategic content initiatives.
Cross-Funnel Optimisation:
- Collaborate closely with marketing and sales teams, optimising content strategies across the entire sales funnel. Tailor content to meet the unique needs of different stages, from building awareness and consideration to conversion and customer retention.
Staying Updated with Industry Trends:
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content marketing. Implement continuous improvements to the content strategy and execution based on industry advancements and performance insights.
Traffic Growth Strategies:
- Implement and lead strategies aimed at driving significant traffic growth, employing a combination of organic and targeted distribution methods. Conduct indepth analyses of traffic patterns and user behaviour, identifying opportunities for further optimisation and sustained growth.
The Requirements
- 5 years working in related field (marketing, editorial, social media, PR)
- Degree in Marketing, communications, journalism or other related fields
- Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive content marketing strategies.
- Ability to meticulously identify target audiences and craft detailed buyer personas.
- Indepth understanding of SEO principles and advanced techniques.
- Track record of developing and maintaining a consistent brand voice and tone across all content touchpoints.
