PURPOSE
Reporting to the General Manager (GM) of Kulim Industrial Gases (KIG), the Account Manager shall be:

  • The Single-Point-Of-Contact (SPOC) for all customers and be responsible for taking care of all existing customer of KIG. This includes attending to all commercial-related issues, management of contracts, building and maintaining relationship with customer at all levels, and attending customers' events
  • SPOC for all commercialrelated activities in a given territory (Kulim Hi-Tech Park) and any other territory assigned by the GM of KIG asandwhen required
  • SPOC for the development, planning, management, and delivery of all bulk product within the given territory
  • Responsible for all Business Development activities within the given territory which include prospecting, biding, contract negotiation and be the Commercial Lead for project execution
  • Responsible to assist the GM of KIG in account planning, preparation of Request for Proposal (RFQ) from vendors and any other adhoc task assign by the GM of KIG

NATURE AND SCOPE


The Account Manager will also be responsible for the development and management of all existing contracts and the development of new customers for KIG.


The Account Manager will be, in conjunction with KIG, responsible for all business development and marketing activities in the Kulim Hi-Tech Park.


This will include the development of a projects from start to finish, encompassing prospecting, developing quotes, and negotiating contract closure with the customers.

The role requires a high level of commercial and analytical skills.

Customer engagement is the key to drive profitability in these targeted growth areas and to develop and sustain strong business relationships.


Measurement of success will be against primary commercial goals, development of a sustainable prospect/project pipeline, flawless execution of projects secured and strong problem-solving skills and relationship building with existing customer.


The Account Manager will oversee the customer payment behavior, molecules usage pattern, customers complaint and collection as and when required with the support from the collection team.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The incumbent will have below as main responsibilities. Kulim Industrial Gases Sdn Bhd (KIG) Business Development. The incumbent will be the focused point person for new sales in the given territory.

The person will work closely with the GM of KIG to lead the growth effort working with existing and new customers in the given territory.


Responsibilities include:

Sales (in conjunction with the GM of KIG)

  • Soliciting and receiving customers RFQ's
  • Working with the stake holders to develop the offering, producing, and submitting proposals.
  • Management of customer relationship

Marketing (in conjunction with the GM of KIG)

  • Developing a longterm business relationship with prospective and existing customers to support long term business growth plan within KHTP
  • Develop offerings that will provide value to customers
  • Increase brand awareness in our target markets and territories.

Engineering/Operations (in conjunction with the Technical Account Manager of KIG)

  • Work closely with JV partners (AP/Linde) team to meet customer needs
  • Partner with JV's team to develop the commercial sections of proposals
Account Manager - Decision Making Authority

The Account Manager will adhere to the published KIG Delegation Of Authority matrix

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is a must.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Mandatory requirements include customerfacing experience, possessing strong technical sales acumen, and a background in engineering.
  • Ability to effectively manage customer relationships and interpret contracts.
  • Commercial management skills and common sense are essential for success in this role.
  • Basic proficiency in Project Financial Analysis.
  • Must be fluent in English speaking
  • Past experience in transactional processing and in reporting and analysis is an added advantage.
