Essential Duties:

  • Provide pre
- and post-test counselling, and providing appropriate referrals for additional support or medical care.

  • Conduct followup counselling sessions to support ongoing risk reduction, adherence to treatment, and retention in care.
  • Collect and manage sensitive participant data with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with ethical research standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations to enhance linkage to care and support services.
  • Assist research team in all research activities such as recruitment, retention of participants, providing administrative support.
  • Stay informed of the latest developments in HIV treatment and prevention, particularly as they relate to the MSM and transgender communities.

  • Establish and maintain working relationships
  • Willingness to learn and stay updated on relevant information.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required by the study protocol.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical research principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socioeconomic backgrounds, religions and ages.
  • Experience in HIV counselling or working with MSM and transgender populations is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in English and another language (Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, Tamil, etc)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
