Our client is a market leader in the industry. Due to the aggressive development of the business, they are looking for a Unit Head, Credit Monitoring to further add value to the business from a credit monitoring perspective.

Job Description

As this role is essential to the organization, it is vital candidate comes with a track record of delivery and proven experience. Among the many responsibilities are listed below:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage teams to effectively monitor loan portfolios of all participating FIs to minimize delinquency / NPL, claims on government guarantees.
  • Lead and manage teams to ensure all FIs submit its monthly delinquency / NPL reports timely and accurately.
  • To keep HOD and management abreast on key developments / activities / plans / findings by submitting/ presenting regular and relevant reports / updates on the matter.
  • To strategize, formulate and/or propose follow up / remedial action plans to minimize the delinquency / NPL and claims on the government guaranteed accounts
  • Lead / monitor and guide teams to effectively implement follow up/ action plans to minimize delinquency and claims through SJPP site visits to identified customers and engagements with FIs to drive rehabilitation efforts where possible.
  • Review evaluation papers for restructuring/ rescheduling ("R&R") and other credit related matters from FIs, make recommendations and where applicable, approve such requests on a timely basis. Also closely monitor approved R&R (pre & post claims).
  • Responsible to periodically assess / review SJPP monitoring processes and/or system for trouble shooting and identifying areas for improvement, if required.
  • To propose reporting / system enhancements to facilitate meaningful and accurate data collection and utilization for planning and achievement of SJPP's objectives.
  • To work closely / follow up with GSM systems, IT and other relevant units and departments to implement system enhancements on a timely basis.
  • Accountable to meet all of unit's objectives and KPIs by effectively monitoring the implementation, progress and achievements of plans in place.
  • If necessary, to plan for periodic audits of scheme accounts at FIs to check on FIs adherence to terms and conditions set out in Master Agreement and its supplementals or SJPP's circular / guidelines to FIs and recommend remedial action where necessary.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Unit Head, Credit Monitoring will be confident in leading from the front and be responsible for the growth of the company and must possess the below requirements;

Key Requirements:

  • At least a Degree in any discipline but preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law or related discipline or professional qualifications.
  • At least 15 years' monitoring / credit experience in a Corporate / Commercial Banking environment with practical experience in handling a team, field work, R&R and some exposure (preferably) to audit and recovery work.
  • Integrity with effective leadership skills
  • Effective planning and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good writing skills
  • Good analytical / problem solving skills with matching business awareness
  • Good negotiation skills
