ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role is part of GBS Corporate Finance Team.

The primary responsibility of the role is to proactively assist in the delivery of Group Statutory & Management Reporting information in accordance with Accounting Standards and Governance Controls.

The role includes assist in the delivery Month End

  • Half Year, Fast Close and Year End financial reporting while identifying Operational Efficiencies in key areas to achieve BAU results.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Support in Group and Local reporting activities. Produce reliable and accurate financial statements reconciled based on IFRS and local accounting system, by ensuring the reported data are in line with local and group requirements and accounting standards.
  • Ensure month end close activities, statutory and management financial reporting (actuals) are performed on time.
  • Provide support, statutory, management and transactional activities to end market for business operations.
  • Performs monthly analytical reviews and prepares meaningful commentaries to explain results.
  • Investigating and responding to adhoc queries/reporting relating to financial performance and analysis requests.
  • Assist to coordinate the delivery of annual external statutory audit exercise.
  • Coordinate and ensure alignment and delivery of control navigator and internal controls related exercises.
  • Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of the financial processes and systems; ensure the existence of adequate internal controls.
  • Drive in implementing internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification; at least 2 years of experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment.
  • Understand the impact of the accounting process and practice (IFRS and group reporting guidelines). Good knowledge of Management Accounting techniques in relation to Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and data; A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically BI/BPC, SAP or ERP equivalent
  • Detailoriented, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision; Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls
