We are looking for a passionate Data Analyst, Finance Operations who will be responsible to support the financials data and related business information in reaching its vision by successfully delivering financial analysis.


This person will be working with Wilhelmsen Ship Management, a comprehensive global maritime group providing over half of the merchant fleet with essential products and services, along with supplying crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail.


With a pool of more than 9,200 seafarers and over 500 shore-based employees all over the world, Wilhelmsen Ship Management is one of world's largest third-party ship managers with a portfolio of more than 450 vessels and counting.


The position will be located at our shared service office in Kuala Lumpur Sentral in the heart of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and it is easy to get to by public transportation.

Formal Authorities

Assess to financials data and related business information. Lead creation of performance metrics for Accounting and Finance divisions. Communicate standard dashboards and tracking of performance.

Interrelations


The Data Analyst reports to the Head of Finance Shared Services, and working closely with Group Finance, Corporate Accounting, Vessel Accounting, Joint-Venture, Treasury, and other Business Divisions.

Main responsibilities and tasks

The position is responsible to perform the following activities.

  • Data Mining- Collect and process structured and unstructured information
  • Data Management- Analyze data integrity for accurate data analysis- Define and implement data collection and transformation logic, selecting appropriate combination of methods and tools to ensure data integrity while optimizing scalability and performance of the solution- Uses appropriate software programs and tools, including statistical packages and programming languages to query, process, analyze, and present data and findings including required documentation
  • Data Reporting- Develop and implement reporting dashboards and others measure of performances- Communicating information in digestible and accessible way both orally and written including creating and maintaining rich interactive visualizations which integrate various reporting components from multiple data sources- Focus on analyze relevant data generating accurate reporting and analysis of unit's performance
  • Metrics & Measure of Performance- Provide actionable insights business strategy- Consolidate and tracking improvement target and efficiency Key Performance Indicators- Build effective and visually rich presentations/Dashboards using BI Tools (Tableau) to present data in a meaningful way- Ensure quality, accuracy and focused analytic review
  • Strategic Actions- Facilitate decision-making toward the achievement strategic plans- Provide in-depth data-oriented analysis and expertise to enable successful assessment or implementation of ERP solution.- Enthusiastic in continuous enhancing current practices, models, metrics on data management- Assist with Vice President Finance, CFO and Head of Finance in new initiatives, and non-routine tasks.
  • Accountabilities
  • The position is accountable for meeting performance standards and compliances of processes, timely and accuracy of reporting key metrics, and actionable improvements.


 Qualifications
  • Degree in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Economics, or other equivalent fields 35 years of relevance experiences
  • Proficiency with financial software packages (SAP), especially MS office (Excel & Power Points) and experience in BI tools (Tableau and/or Power BI) is a mus
  • Analytical and research capabilities, and financials understanding
  • A dynamic, vibrant individuals who aspire to goes beyond analyzing factual information to develop evidencebased actions
