Lecturer (Physiology & Biochemistry)

The Opportunity School of Pharmacy currently has an excellent opportunity exist for a full-time Lecturer, Level B. We are seeking passionate and determined individual with demonstrated expertise in the field of Physiology & Biochemistry.

A Level B academic is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the university and to carry out activities to maintain and develop her/his scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.

The key result areas of Research, Teaching and Engagement are the basis for the primary duties and responsibilities of the role.

A workload will be agreed annually with the Head of School in the Performance Development Plan process. Other duties may be required from time to time as directed by the Head of School. The successful applicant will have doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification. Applicant should have demonstrated ability to teach in a university environment with potential to produce excellent research output. Professional qualification as a Malaysian registered pharmacist is an added advantage. This opening is for Malaysian citizen only. Key Responsibilities Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate units. Deliver innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Conduct original research, develop an active publication record and build a profile of grants and supervision.

Participate in collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact and educational excellence.

Support the management of education, research and/or administration in the School through, for example, participation in committees. Undertake administrative responsibilities primarily connected with the units taught, including course review, admission, and accreditation processes. Key Selection Criteria Currently a Malaysian citizen. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification. Demonstrated ability to teach in a university environment. Demonstrated ability to produce excellent research and supervise Undergraduate/Honours students. Demonstrated ability to work with partners in universities, government and/or civil society. Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork. Professional qualification as a Malaysian registered pharmacist is an added advantage. Proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly and research activities/projects.
