DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be presented at the Porter work station which located at the lobby area and be in the lobby area to be ready to greet, assist guests, to welcome guest /visitors by open the glass doors at all times.
  • To standby at the lobby for any VVIP, VIP arrivals.
  • To ensure all signage are ready for the next 3days events and on the day itself.
  • Ensure collection and delivery of guest luggage and equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
  • To ensure all parcels are recording properly in parcel books
  • Tag baggage it and return the identification slips (baggage tag) to guests.
  • Assists guests with luggage to the front desk.
  • Escorts guests to room, placing luggage in room assigned by front desk and short brief to guests of ALL room amenities, equipment and operating functions
  • To ensure every effort is made to meet guest needs, with all comments and complaints being auctioned following procedures laid down by the Hotel and Company policies and procedures.
  • To develop a local knowledge of the surrounding areas so as to be competent enough to recommend places of interest and to dine.
  • To undertake daily checks of the front of the hotel (FO) for litter and debris and to clean as appropriate.
  • To undertake regular cleaning of the door glass and associated door furniture to ensure the best possible presentation to guests.
  • To ensure all Public areas and the front of house are kept to the highest standards of maintenance and cleanliness and are made as welcoming as possible.
  • To ensure tourism boards is tidy and have up to date information.
  • Delivers faxes, messages, packages, and flowers to guestrooms and other offices.
  • Ensure the efficient delivery and collection of group luggage.
  • To ensure Porters log book is updated and filling properly.
  • Ensure that the guest has verified that all luggages have been accounted for.
  • Ensure safe storage and collect ticketing of guest coats and personal items.
  • Assist guest with Long term luggage storage requests / Left luggage requests.
  • Update and file the left luggage request form/Long Term luggage request form.
  • Update and file errand cards.
  • Update the Luggage movement register. (Log book)
  • Transport departing guest's luggage from the room to the lobby, then into a car or taxi after reconfirming with the guest.
  • Respond to guest requests and queries providing a knowledgeable, efficient and helpful information service.
  • Assist with answering the telephone and taking messages, transferring calls or dealing with enquiries in accordance with hotels standards.
  • To provide an efficient luggage storage, delivery and collection service.
  • Control the car porch traffic to ensure smooth driveway.
  • To liaise with all departments to ensure effective and efficient communication at all times.
  • To offers a personal service to guest and residents of the hotel and to maximize sales where possible.
  • To attend training and development courses are required by the Head of Department.
  • To comply with all Hotel and Company policies.
  • To be aware of, and comply with statutory requirements regarding the work place such as health and safety, hygiene, fire prevention and licensing etc.
  • Perform any other works as and when assigned by the Management.

Salary:
RM1,500.00 per month
