To conduct nutritional screenings or assessments for assigned patients.

  • To provide diet counseling for both inpatient and outpatient on therapeutic diets when referred by doctors.
  • To calculate and prepare the tube feeding regime when referred by doctor and to explain about the regime to the nurses or caregivers.
  • To confer with doctors and other health care professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs.
  • To coordinate recipe development and standardization and develop new menus for independent food service operations.
  • To check normal and therapeutic diets and ensure correct diet goes to patients.
  • To ensure food quality for inpatient diet.
  • To ensure that the diet served is as scheduled and is presentable and hygienic.
  • To ensure smooth workflow of inpatient meal preparation and serving.
  • To give talks and/ or train on diet and nutrition to patients, staff or public when requested or invited.
  • To monitor food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • To develop policies for food service or nutritional programs to assist in health promotion and disease control.
  • To inspect meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance.
  • To train and supervise food service workers who plan, prepare, and serve meals with regards to dietary requirements.
  • To advise Executive Chef and F&B staff on sanitation, safety procedures, menu development and planning to assist with the establishment, operation, and evaluation of food service facilities and nutrition programs.
  • To calculate nutritional values of food served and to determine serving size and method of food preparation.
  • To prepare teaching materials such as handouts, brochures, or posters to be given to patients or the public.
  • To participate in and contribute towards quality improvement initiatives / programs / activities conducted at the department or Hospital level as assigned.
  • To take part in health campaign activities organized by the hospital when required

RM2, RM2,700.00 per month
