We are looking for an experienced IT Network Engineer (Assistant Manager level) who will be responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining our QL Group's IT network infrastructure , including Datacentre, HQ, subsidiaries and Cloud platform. You will be the main network project lead to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for our business users.

  • Lead the designing of functional network infrastructure, implementation, patches update, monitoring, perform upgrade and implementation on the IT infrastructure to support all network infrastructure within the group.
  • Manage and oversee entire network infrastructure, manage end to end implementation of IT network projects to ensure alignment of business requirements to meet end user needs.
  • Improve the resilience and security of the network environment including overseeing task and schedules, executing network project communication plans, handle proof of concept, testing etc.
  • Manage Internet Service Provider for new internet application and maintenance service.
  • Monitor routine maintenance of existing IT network infrastructure and generate network statistical report.
  • To work with network vendors to resolve network issues, Root Cause Analysis of outages and problem remediation errors and perform troubleshooting analysis of network to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Enforce standardization of security across the network by following defined policies.
  • Prioritize security across the WAN and LAN under a Zero Trust premise and ensure network vulnerabilities are remediated in a timely manner.
  • Configure, troubleshoot and maintain network related software and devices e.g. Firewall, Router, L3 Switch, AP, Network Controller, Load balancer, AWS/Azure Cloud, PRTG, etc.
  • Create, maintain and update network diagrams, reports and related documentations.
  • Educate internal user on the new and current network knowledge and awareness.
  • Responsible for network hardware and software, contract and licenses purchase and renewal and assist in monitoring actual expenditure against budget, undertake appropriate control measures to ensure operations are conducted effectively and efficiently within approved budget.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent. MCSE/CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Preferred .
  • At least 4 - 6 year(s) of working experience as a network engineer or database administrator preferred. Experience as a network architect, database administrator, or technical consultant in large-scale internet companies or telecommunications operators.
  • Advanced certifications from cloud service providers (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, IBM Certified Solution Architect Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Well verse in complete IT life cycle (networking and infrastructure).
  • Well knowledge in network routing, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN/WLAN/SDWAN topologies and protocols, IPSEC-VPN, SSL VPN, FW routing policies and filtering, DNS, DDNS, QoS, BMW, DHCP, VLAN, AWS/Azure experience, cyber and network security.
  • Hands-on experience on configure related software and devices; Sophos/Fortigate/Sonicwall Next Gen Firewalls & controller, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Aruba, L2/L3 switch, WAP, AP & controllers.
  • Experienced in planning, managing and implementing IT network projects including supporting Data Center infrastructure & understanding of carrier technologies.
  • Sharp insights into new technologies and trends, able to quickly respond to and adopt new technologies.
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude. Provide solution to problems effectively.
  • Organised and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Able to work independently or in team; and result oriented.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate must be willing to be based at HQ, Shah Alam, and is required to travel at times to our subsidiaries across Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam to support on network infrastructure issues.
