Actuary - Embedded Value and Value of New Business Reporting

AIA is embarking on an exciting journey to create a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone. As an Actuary, you will play a crucial role in shaping this vision by ensuring our products are well-designed and priced, analysing business performance, and managing insurance policies in-force.

About the Role

As an Embedded Value (EV) and Value of New Business (VONB) Reporting Actuary, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the EV/VONB Prophet Workspace to ensure timely cash flows delivery for reporting.
  • Investigating and explaining unusual trends, and supporting ad-hoc requests for the line of business in-charge.
  • Working seamlessly with relevant teams to ensure model developments and impact assessments are properly implemented, explained, and documented.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the team to ensure timely delivery of cash flows for results compilation and management reports.
  • Investigate and explain the reasonableness of results, experience variance versus forecast, and VONB margin movement.
  • Handle stakeholders' requests and enquiries on EV/VONB confidently.
  • Communicate results, findings, and financial insights to the supervisor and Chief Actuary for necessary management actions.
  • Participate in strategy planning for EV/VONB budget.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science and actively pursuing Actuarial Professional Exam in any actuarial professional body.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet and programming, especially Excel and Prophet.
  • Good team player with a keen desire to learn and work independently.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, and solutions-focused.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • At least 4 years of working experience in valuation and/or pricing field in life insurance.
