This individual will oversee Operational Risk management for RBC segments and geographies by collaborating with stakeholders in the GRM Operational Risk function and other Risk functions when needed. The role involves executing assigned Operational Risk tasks, providing training, and supervising team members.
Job Description
The GRM Operational Risk – Global Risk Oversight team in Malaysia serves as a centralized group responsible for providing Operational Risk and Control oversight across RBC segments and geographies. They utilize a consistent set of tools, practices, and expertise to contribute to the implementation of the global Operational Risk framework. This team reports to the global GRM Operational Risk function in Toronto, Canada.
Responsibilities of the Global Risk Oversight team in Malaysia include supporting Operational Risk practices, performing Controls Assurance, overseeing Internal Operational Risk Events, conducting Root Cause Analysis, and adapting to evolving Operational Risk policies and tools.
Operational Risk Oversight Activities
- Review and oversee Risk Register onboarding and Risk & Control Self-Assessment activities
- Conduct 2LOD controls assurance on Operational Risks
- Challenge 1LOD's execution of Internal Operational Risk Events and Root Cause Analysis
- Document oversight activities on the Operational Risk Management System
- Present results to relevant Operational Risk teams, highlighting trends or exceptions
- Provide evidence and create summaries using Operational Risk tools/templates
- Produce reports supporting individual Operational Risk practices
Quality Assurance & Oversight Activities
- Perform quality assurance on Operational Risk work output
- Assist in maintaining oversight of Operational Risk practice execution
- Update procedures and templates to align with Enterprise policies
- Support training of team members as needed
