We seek a skilled quantity surveyor to manage all building and civil engineering project costs, from initial calculations to final figures. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project costs are managed effectively and completed within budget.

The quantity surveyor will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents, as well as negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms. They will also manage project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs, and maintain accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting. They will have sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards, as well as proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques.

  • Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents
  • Negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Management of project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs
  • Maintenance of accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions
  • Preparation of BOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets
  • Analysis of gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications, and conditions of the contract
  • Monitoring and control of costs throughout the project
  • Participation in pre-tendering activities with client, architect, and project managers
  • Preparation of initial quote and contract for the sales team
  • Coordination with design team for analysing architectural and service drawings
  • Management of valuation of work done and handling claims and variations
  • Preparation of interim and final valuations, variations, and claims of the construction site
  • Conduct of feasibility studies and value engineering exercises
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money
