What you will do

  • Participate from sub-blocks up through chip top-level floor planning and full chip routing from scratch.
  • Perform layout verification (such as LVS, DRC & others) and troubleshoot the results.
  • Very good hands-on experience in the IC layout device matching techniques, high-speed shielding, ESD, and I/O placement and validation, as well as broader knowledge in handling high voltage devices.
  • Able to work with Architect, design lead, designers, and layout engineers to achieve the full chip integration, place and route, top-level verification, and tape out.
  • Responsible for layout optimization, post-layout extraction, and parasitic analysis, as well as supervising the layout team on projects focusing on Analog and Mixed Signal circuits by ensuring the chip meets the desired area, performance, and power.
  • Specific technical expertise is desired in a broad range of process technologies from Bipolar, CMOS, and DMOS (BCD) including FinFETs, and complex, high-performance analog circuits and logic layout.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand design requirements and constraints to deliver best-in-class products.
  • Proactively look for continuous improvement opportunities in the complete layout flow methodologies (flow, layout, and design) and develop accurate mask layout design schedules and resource estimates.

What you will need

  • PhD/Master/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Micro Electronics/Physics with excellent technical background in Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design environment.
  • Junior Engineer - 2 to 4 years of experience.
  • Senior Engineer – 5 to 7 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience in analog layout from scratch for a number of design blocks such as Analog Switch, Bandgap, Current mirrors, Power Management blocks, Charge-pump, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, and ESD requirements.
  • Possess strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in physical layout development work.
  • Experience in Cadence layout (Virtuoso, VXL), Synopsis tools, and Calibre verification (ERC, DRS, LVS) preferred.
  • Experience with Bipolar, CMOS, and DMOS (BCD) process technologies preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the target process to balance layout and design needs, e.g., crosstalk, RC delay, electro-migration, IR drop, self-heating, shielding, matching, guard rings, and latch up.
  • A team player with good communication skills and strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in PERL, TCL, or PYTHON scripting is a plus.
