Occupational Health Nurse

Insulet is seeking a highly motivated and performance-driven individual to join our expanding team as an Occupational Health Nurse & Associate Safety Specialist in Insulet Malaysia.
This role will assist a team of all-level staff, outsource service providers, contractors, and visitors, ensuring their daily activities support business objectives, comply with cGMP requirements, and manage their performance/development.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the site in any emergency healthcare services for the workforce, overseeing all aspects of clinical and medical management within the clinic, including medical evacuation support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing primary and occupational health care to all employees
- Assisting in the smooth running and administration of company in sick bay/plant clinic
- Maintaining appropriate data on employee's health performance index
- Conducting occupational health promotion training programs
- Documenting all medical cases and ensuring correct and proper storage of medical records
- Maintaining accurate records of all injuries and treatments provided
- Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and confidentiality standards
- Providing nursing aid to employees having minor ailments
- Advising the injured on the need for further consultation with a doctor
- Assisting in the investigation, reporting and documentation of accidents with the assistance of EHSS Officer
- Supporting the ergonomic risk management program through the coordination of office workstation assessments & providing advice on postural awareness in the office and manufacturing areas
- Maintaining confidential medical records of employees, coordinating the running of the health center
- Assisting in the development of employee Health & Well-Being Programs in the areas of preventive medicine (screening for risk factors), Lifestyle Education (stress management, anti-smoking, development of healthy eating and lifestyles etc.)
- Directing and coordinating infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions
- Implementing health care and procedures
- Assisting on enforcement of the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the organization
- Assisting EHSS Officer to monitor workplace environment and facilities to ensure there are no dangerous situations
- Reporting and presenting safety-related status and issues to the EHSS Officer & participating in the evaluation and analysis of concept and feasibility studies
- Developing and/or implementing programs to minimize risk to employees, customers, and the environment
- Gathering EHSS information and evaluating results
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate Environment, Health & Safety considerations into all aspects of manufacturing operations
- Assisting EHSS Officer to manage waste disposal, chemical handling, and other environmental aspects of the facility
- Staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and drive Safety & Health excellence
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive audiometric testing program that complies with legal requirements and industry standards
- Following company guidelines to ensure food safety and hygiene are being followed & escalating any food safety and quality concerns to EHSS Officer
- Conducting HIRARC (Hazards Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control) and Job Safety Analysis at workplace
- Participating and supporting regular environmental health and safety audits and certification programs in compliance with established standards
- Ensuring all employees undergo relevant EHSS training are performed/assigned to employees including Contractors/stakeholders according to company policy and Legal requirements
- Focusing on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by internal standard functional practices and procedures
- Conducting and managing the EHSS Committee meeting during the absence of EHSS Officer
- Being always ready to carry out any new task assigned from time to time by a superior
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma Nursing or equivalent
- Must be DOSH registered Occupational Health Nurse
- Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board
- Valid annual practicing certificate (APC) from the respective body such as Nursing Board or Medical Assistant Board
- 3-4 Years of experience with EHSS or relevant experience from manufacturing such as medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and cleanroom industry
- Experience in First Aid and ERT
- Ergonomic competency is an advantage
- Safety-related competency or a certificate is a major advantage
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Well communication skills with the ability to present to the team, management, and authority
- Good spoken, and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Ability to fulfill job responsibilities in a fast-paced/high-volume production environment
- Committed to job roles without hesitation
- Proficient in computer skills, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Previous experience working in a clean room environment is an advantage
- Experience working in a regulated industry; Consumer products or Life Sciences preferred
- Having strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigorous process discipline
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily work plans and unplanned issues on EHSS matters and the culture of the production environment
- Multi-language fluency preferred (English, Malay)
Physical Requirements:
- Proactive and analyzing problems or incidents that happened
- Identifying root causes, minimizing risks and prevention
- Working on agreed action plans that are based on facts, knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of priorities, and factory operational mode
- Able to work all shifts, urgency, and some weekends as required to support EHSS or business objectives
