Within Malaysia, we engage in significant oil and gas production activities and the distribution of chemical products. Your Role in Our Team

As an IT Engineer (Network) at ExxonMobil, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of information and the optimal performance of our computer network. This encompasses managing various data networks such as LANs, WANs, intranets, and extranets to sustain efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain network solutions for core infrastructure, including private cloud, to integrate with other services and systems
  • Lead project management for network activities like upgrades, implementations, and migrations, offering technical guidance and user support
  • Document end-to-end networking solutions for global deployment of Network services
  • Engage in technical tasks to design and commission networking systems
  • Drive project implementation and delivery of network technologies
  • Assess, plan, and implement new network technologies and changes to existing infrastructure
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and performance
  • Collaborate with customers and senior technical professionals within the organization
  • Provide expertise in critical production problem resolution
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless controllers
  • Set up and configure network security devices and firewalls according to standards and policies

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently with strong technical skills. The role may entail rotational on-call support during evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent, with a focus on network engineering, or minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience in network infrastructure and hardware
  • Proficiency in infrastructure devices like switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls
  • Expertise in designing, monitoring, and maintaining LANs and WANs
  • Experience with network virtualization, network automation, and network security
  • Sound knowledge of global network design, routing protocols, and TCP/IP
  • Strong understanding of switching and routing fundamentals
  • Familiarity with SDWAN deployment and network virtualization technologies
  • Fluency in English, strong technical writing skills, and analytical problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure in a global team setting
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies and processes
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE-ENT, CompTIA Network+)
